Ashcan Studio of Art is an art school geared toward creative development and portfolio preparation.
Our curriculum is an individualized program in which each student’s personal interests and skills are the focus. With a lot of hard work, and with the resources of New York City’s arts community, 100% of our students have excelled to their greatest potential and have earned admittance into many of the highest-ranked BFA and MFA programs, most have received scholarships.
At Ashcan, we believe that artistic growth and development should take place in a diverse and supportive environment. Our students come from around the region and from around the world to study at our studios in midtown Manhattan and Queens. Our instructors are professionals in the visual arts with a passion for teaching. They offer a breadth and depth of knowledge and experience in Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Illustration, Animation, Theater, Industrial Design, Digital Arts, Graphic Design, Fashion, Interior Design, and Architecture.
MISSION STATEMENT
Ashcan Art is a New York-based art institution that offers high-quality art education to students of all levels and ages.
The artists of our namesake, The Ashcan School, were known for studying the underrepresented angles of New York urban life and encouraging young artists to express their raw visual energy in the New York art community. In that same spirit, Ashcan Studio of Art is committed to cultivating the intellectual curiosity within our students to explore the unique creativity of each individual.
Our goal is to develop a nurturing, open, and creative community in which young and new artists can advance their talents and grow as individuals. Ashcan’s Visual Arts Program is for students who wish to improve their skills and create a body of portfolio to advance to higher education. We are dedicated to helping them achieve their dreams.
