Ashcan student Min Jung Son, a Scholastic arts & writing Regional NY Gold Key winner, has been selected  as one of five nominees for an “American Visions” award.

Congratulations and Good Luck Min Jung!

Here is her letter from Scholastic, and images of “Love Me Not’:

Dear Min Jung and Kijong Do,

It is my pleasure to inform you that Min Jung’s Sculpture, Love Me Not, has been selected as one of five nominees for an “American Visions” Award. Each year the NYC affiliate is asked to select the 5 pieces that are considered the very best examples of art submitted in the region. Yours is one of them this year!

Right now, national jurors are reviewing all the Gold Key work to
determine if it will earn National Gold or Silver Medals, and they
will also adjudicate the 5 nominees for American Visions and choose one
from our region. Thank you again for sharing your excellent work with
us and we wish you the best of luck. The AV finalist will be posted
along with National Medalists on the Art & Writing website
(www.artandwriting.org) on March 15.
Congratulations once again!

Best, Mike Reilly and Lisa Feder-Feitel
